Learning Objectives

After completing this course, you’ll be able to:

  2. Discuss the modes and risk of virus transmission in the workplace.
  3. Discuss the transmission of HBV among health-care workers and emergency medical and public-safety workers and the requirement and effectiveness of vaccination for HBV.
  4. Describe the epidemiology of HIV in health-care workers.
  5. Discuss the principles of infection control and their application to health-care workers.

  7. Discuss universal blood and body fluid precautions to prevent occupational HIV and HBV transmission.
